Instructions
0 Preheat a pan to low heat. Slice the onions and put oil in the pan followed by the onions. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 1 Slice the bell peppers and add them to the pan with the onions and cook until caramelized or until you are finished with everything else. 2 If you bought NY strips for the recipe, slice them into very thin slices and pat dry with a paper towel. 3 Preheat a large pan to medium-high heat. Add oil to the pan along with the steak shavings. 4 Stir it frequently and add salt and black pepper and mix. Add 2 to 3 slices of provolone cheese and mix until fully melted. Take the pan off the heat while preparing the bread. 5 Cut the bread in half and take out some of the half's bread to form a boat.Add in the cooked steak and cheese, and top it with the onions and peppers. 6 Add the provolone cheese to the top of it and place it on a wired rack. Put it in the oven on broil for 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted with golden brown spots. (Every oven is different so pay attention to it!) 7 Cut into portions and serve hot and enjoy.View original recipe
