Creamy Sausage Pasta

0 In a large skillet, cook the sausage links over medium heat until 3/4 of the way cooked. Add 2/3 TBSP of water to the pan with a lid to help cook. Remove from skillet and slice the sausage when done. 1 While the sausage is cooking, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions and add salt to taste. 2 Add the sliced sausage back to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Add pepper flakes. 3 In a pan on low heat, melt butter and add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and let it reduce for 2-3 minutes, then add the tomato sauce. Stir to combine. 4 Add black pepper, red pepper flakes, and parsley. Stir well and let the sauce reduce until it thickens. About 4-5 minutes. 5 When the sauce is thickened up, add in the parmesan cheese and whisk until fully combined and thickened. 6 Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. 7 Add the sausage to the pan if desired and garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley.View original recipe
